The lawyer Dr Sebastian Wollschläger is a founding partner of the law firm Gercke Wollschläger. He is a lawyer specialized in criminal and fiscal law. He provides advice and acts as counsel for the defense in all areas of the commercial law and the law regarding fiscal offenses. Moreover, a focus of his work is the law on appeal also in general criminal cases. He has acted as counsel for the defense, e.g., in various criminal proceedings concerning the Oppenheim-Esch funds, in fiscal criminal proceedings regarding CO2 trading and in investigation proceedings in the so-called diesel complex. Dr. Wollschläger is a member of the board of the Bar Association Cologne where he is, inter alia, chairman of the department for the supervision of money laundering. He regularly publishes on topics of the commercial law and the law regarding fiscal offenses as well as the law on appeal (e.g. Schlothauer/Weider/Wollschläger, Verteidigung im Revisionsverfahren, 3rd ed. 2019).
Dr. Wollschläger studied at the University of Göttingen; he completed his legal clerkship in Göttingen and Berlin. He did his doctorate at the University of Cologne with a thesis on corruption in business transactions (summa cum laude). After his professional education he initially worked for a medium-sized law firm in the area of the law on competition and the public procurement law before founding the law firm Gercke Wollschläger together with the lawyer Professor Dr Gercke in the year 2007.
