Lawyer Dr. Patrick Günnel is a member of the Gercke Wollschläger team since June 2023. He defends and advises in all areas of white collar criminal law.
Dr. Günnel studied law at the University of Leipzig with a focus on corporate law. During his studies, he worked in a criminal law department under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hendrik Schneider and participated in an exchange program with the University of Miami School of Law. Dr. Günnel completed his legal clerkship in the judicial district of the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main. During this time, he worked, among others, for the German-Brazilian Chamber of Industry and Commerce in São Paulo, for the Wiesbaden State Criminal Police Office and for a renowned criminal law boutique in Frankfurt am Main. Prior to his legal career, Dr. Günnel held management positions in the automotive industry, among others, and completed a part-time business administration distance learning program.
Dr. Günnel did his doctoral thesis on corporate reputation with Prof. Dr. Tim Drygala, supported by a scholarship. During his doctoral studies, he worked in international commercial law firms in the areas of corporate, M&A and private equity.
Dr. Günnel speaks German and English.
