Lawyer Dr. Volker Kregel has been Counsel at Gercke Wollschläger since 2022. Previously, he worked for the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg until 2021, most recently in the Justice Department as Senate Director. From 2003, he was first an alderman and then city director of the Federal City of Bonn. From 2000 to 2003, he was a department head at the Rhein-Erft district and an alderman of the city of Brühl. From 1990 to 2000, Dr. Kregel initially worked in the Federal Ministry of the Environment (Ministerialrat).
Dr. Kregel studied law and history at the University of Göttingen. After his studies, he worked as a research assistant at the chair of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Sellert. He completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Celle.
Dr. Kregel has particular expertise in the areas of consumer protection, occupational health and safety, and environmental protection, as well as in proceedings relating to administration and politics. He has been a member of administrative and supervisory boards of public institutions and companies, as well as of advisory boards and advisory committees, including those of federal ministries.
