The lawyer and specialized lawyer in criminal law Dr Diana Hembach (née Löhr) advises and defends in all areas of the criminal law. Apart from the practical experience in criminal defense, she has proven expertise in criminal law; she is the author of a large number of technical papers on criminal law and criminal trial law.
After having completed the first state exam, Dr Hembach was employed at the chair of Professor Dr Jürgen Seier and worked as an institute assistant to the managing director (most recently with Professor Dr Claus Kreß, LL.M.) at the Institute for Criminal Law and Criminal Trial Law at the University of Cologne for several years. During this time, she did her doctorate under Professor Dr Jürgen Seier with a thesis on criminal trial law. After the second state exam, Dr Hembach was appointed academic council on limited appointment. Dr Hembach initially worked for the law firm Gercke Wollschläger as a research assistant. Since March 2012 she has been admitted to the bar.
Dr Hembach is a member of the German Bar Association (DAV) and the Association for the Promotion of the Institute for Criminal Law and Criminal Trial Law at the University of Cologne.
