Parliamentary enquiry committee
The law governing parliamentary enquiry committees is closely modeled on the criminal procedure law. However, it includes some legal and, in particular, factual peculiarities that make it a special matter requiring experience and tact: While criminal proceedings solely serve finding the truth, enquiry committees are highly political in nature. They are a challenge for the person concerned since they are under special media scrutiny even more than the trial.
The law firm has wide expertise and experience in providing advice to, and supporting, institutions and individuals before enquiry committees of the Federal Parliament as well as various state parliaments. Here, it must always be decided on a case-by-case-basis whether the lawyers will openly support and represent the person(s) concerned or will advise and coordinate in the background.
